It has been almost year I came to Algeria.
There has been so much going on with my life and work here.
I know there can be ups and downs whereever I am, still this experience gave me so much more than I expected in first place.

Last week, I was not so busy somehow.
I found myself chatting with Fayal, HR manager at my company.
Frankly, I have two kinds of feelings for her.
In person, she is very sweet and kind. She cares about her family and friends.
Her mother is suffering from terrible cancer and she's taking care of her ever since her mom got sick.
I really admire her how she is handling this situation.
However, she gets on my nerves - I thinks pretty much everyone's nerves - when it comes to work.
She barely comes to work on time - For crist's sake, she's a HR manager!
She has many excuses when work did not go right. For examples, visa issues and even other issues..
I will need more than one day to complain about her "work style".

Anyway, we were chatting about everyday lives and stuff basically.
She told me out of blue;
"Jamie, I was so shocked when I was in Korea for business trip!"
"Why is that?"
"You see, everyone there is so disciplined...I mean..even bus, when it says it comes on 3 PM sharp, it shows up at 3PM sharp! It's crazy!"
"Haha, why do you call it crazy? Isn't it good things are punctual there?"
"Well...I don't know. I think it's way too strict. You guys need to relax"

Gosh..another cultural shock for me.
For me, the time concept here is always bothering me.
No one keeps the deadline for certain project what so ever.
I have thought things would be easier for me to live if people keeps some punctuality.
However, they think living with exact time being and discipline is so strict and tired.

When I was Korea, I had similar idea in some sense that we are living in tough world.
People are more focused on work than lives, missing more important things in life.
However, hearing from objective view of foreigner drove me to defend myself and my culture though
I admit some parts.

I want to find out what I will feel like when I go back to Korea this December.
Somehow, I would like to see lives there from different point of view.
Then maybe, I will talk with Fayal once again what I really think about "Too discplined" lifestyle
